The Associate Administrator, Finance position will work with various fiscal and operational functions for the Keck Medical Center's overall budget, planning and analysis needs, in conjunction with the CFO of Keck and Norris. In coordination with the CFO of KMC , this position will also serve as a liaison to the System departments responsible for financial planning, analysis, decision support, capital/supply chain and controller's services. In particular, the Associate Administrator, Finance will coordinate the hospital's annual budget process, working with Hospital leaders to develop and meet operating Budget targets. The incumbent will work with leaders and System Decision Support to develop financial analyses, proformas, and financial models to further key Hospital's operational plans. The Associate Administrator, Finance, will coordinate Hospitals month end review and accounting close with System Finance and Revenue Cycle, providing analysis and key findings to the CFO or KMC. This position will work closely with Supply Chain Team and Construction/Real Estate/ Facilities to ensure accuracy of capital spend and co develop cash flow of projections. The Associate Administrator, Finance, in conjunction with the CFO of KMC will develop the Hospital's long-range plan in collaboration with Hospital leadership, System Strategy and System Decision Support. The Associate Administrator, Finance, in conjunction with CFO KMC coordinates with the Health System level office of Accounting and Financial Reporting, Revenue Cycle, Supply Chain and Purchasing, Health Information Management, Strategic Financial Planning, and Decision Support and Budgeting to ensure adequate service to KMC and to share managerial oversight of the system office staff assigned to KMC operations. The Associate Administrator, Finance will serve as the key finance resource to Hospital department leaders and will be the back up to CFO of Keck and Norris in his/her absence.


Essential Duties: • Manage and lead the budget and monthly variance reporting process for Keck Medical Center • Using the decision support system to develop and analyze key business opportunities. Serve as key resource in developing statistical and profitability reports for KMC. • Responsible for improving upon entire processes or systems, leveraging on personal past experiences and in- depth understanding of best practices in the marketplace that may improve the competitive position of the organization. • Focus is on short- to mid-term strategies (e.g., 1-3 years) to achieve business results, which may require substantial development of new processes, standards or operational plans to achieve strategies. • Establishes and implements tactical and operational plans for the sub-function, with impact on the achievement of business unit results. • Evaluate budget variances and make recommendations on appropriate corrective actions. • Prepare and present monthly budget and financial performance reports to KMC leaders. • In conjunction with CFO of KMC develop, monitor, and evaluate business plans in alignment with the KMC and health system’s goals and objectives. • In conjunction with Controller’s Services Team complete and analyze month end financial results. Participate in year-end audit process for KMC. • In conjunction with CFO of KMC develop, monitor, and evaluate KMC 5 Year Plan; and associated strategic investments. • Manages a team consisting of other managers, and has hiring, firing, promotion and reward authority within own area, in accordance with organization guidelines. • Serve as the key finance resource to Hospital department leaders and will be the back up to CFO of Keck and Norris in his/her absence. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Req Bachelor's degree Business, Economics, or Commerce, with major/emphasis in Accounting • Req Master's degree • Master's Degree not required with 15 years of experience • Req 7 years Hospital accounting/management experience. • Req 7 years Management experience in healthcare finance related field. • Pref 15 years or more experience preparing and analyzing acute care hospital budgets, proforma developments and understanding of acute care Hospital Decision Support. • Req Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with Lawson, budgeting, and other cost accounting systems. • Req Highly effective written and verbal skills and ability to multi-task as demands change. • Req Analytical and critical thinking skills to effective problem-solve financial and operational issues. • Req Demonstrated ability to adapt easily to change and lead others in a team environment. • Req Experienced Manager with the skills and experience to function independently. • Req Demonstrates ability to utilize effective, appropriate, and diplomatic oral and written communication skills. • Req Commitment to results driven outcomes. • Req Demonstrated leadership and complex organizational management skills. • Req Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point. • Req Strong analytical and quantitative skills. • Req Must be comfortable in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. • Req Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations as it relates to hospital finance/reimbursement issues; GAAP accounting and reporting; healthcare cost accounting and expense management techniques Required Certifications: • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only) The annual base salary range for this position is $191,360.00 - $315,744.00.
