RHD Boston is seeking a competent, self-motivated Assistant Program Director to become part of a team dedicated to providing quality services to adults with developmental disabilities.

Program Summary:
RHD Boston provides residential, day, and individual supports to men and women with developmental disabilities in the Greater Boston area. Programs are located in Greater Boston [Roslindale, West Roxbury, Hyde Park, Waltham, Walpole, Arlington, Medford]. Our programs focus on a person-centered planning approach, and much care is given to working with individuals to create homes adapted to meet individual needs. We provide intensive support in the area of life skills, social skills, and community involvement with an emphasis on having fun while pursing personal goals.
The Assistant Program Director provides leadership to staff in collaboration with the Program Director. The Assistant Director will assist the director with staff supervision, training and hiring of staff. The APD is responsible for helping to ensure all program operations are conducted in an ethical and professional manner. Responsibilities/Duties:
L eadership, Staff Management and Organizational Strategy
  • Supervise Site Supervisors, Program Specialists, Medical Staff and Direct Support Professionals to include daily operations, supervision practices, implementation of consumer plans and documentation.
  • In collaboration with the Fiscal Administrator or Office Manager, provide oversight to the recruitment process to include scheduling candidates for and participating in interviews. Oversee the hiring, and orientation of new staff as necessary.
  • Support management team with documentation around supervision to include progressive discipline as warranted.

Quality Assurance
  • Reviews site documentation in preparation for audits both internal and external.

Finance, Development and other Operations
  • Supports the Unit Director in adhering to license, funder and budget requirements.
  • Provide support and intervention for individuals and staff during a crisis.
  • Create an environment that empowers individuals through the development of skills and coordination of resources and supportive services.
  • Ensures incident reports are complete, accurate and timely with corrective action taken when necessary · Input all reportable incidents and follow-up into EIM
  • Develops and maintains a catalog of community resources/activities and coordinates all communication for the consumers with individuals, family members, day programs, Behavior Consultants, SC’s and other outside entities, such as the Social Security Administration, Medical Insurance Companies, etc.
  • Collaborate with residential managers in the creation of instructional plans for the implementation of goals, objectives, and outcomes to implement consumer long and short-term goals, provide oversight of ISP adherence, and train all staff in the implementation of ISPs annually.

Required Experience & Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years work experience in mental health/IDD direct service and 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Products and Applications.
  • Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle.
  • Subject to employment screenings, including FBI clearance, if applicable.

Required Education:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services or related field from an accredited institution.
Salary : $58,498.08
