Space Coast Photonics is seeking a Fiber Optic Cable Assembler, having cable assembly experience with very small features that require using a microscope, to work with our team in Melbourne, FL. This Fiber Optic Cable Assembler position requires the applicant to perform very fine touch manual dexterity operations in order to position 250 micron diameter fiber and epoxy it into the appropriate position. The applicant must have extremely good close-range eyesight and be able move small (125 micron) fiber into the required position and utilize UV curing epoxy to hold the fiber in place while following a procedure. This position requires the Assembler to utilize a microscope for many of the tasks, have extremely good hand/finger manual dexterity, good eyesight, and patience for performing tedious operations.

The applicant should also be familiar with MS Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and be able to utilize these applications as tools to provide work instructions, follow assembly procedures, and capture test data as well as document various hardware configurations.

This position requires the ability to work in a small team environment so the applicant must communicate effectively with peers and management and must also be able to plan and execute their tasks with minimal supervision. The applicant should also have at least 2 years of relevant industry experience. This is a full time position and the applicant will be required to meet a production schedule for assembling and successfully testing this cables. The applicant must have a high school diploma and at least 2 years of college/university is preferred.

Space Coast Photonics designs and manufactures export-controlled products so applicants must be US Citizens or Legal Permanent Residents.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
