O2 Employment Services is working with a local company to find their Architectural Design Lead. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, and customer service. This role is business development-oriented and customer-facing skills are required for daily interfaces with clients and local government. This candidate will be responsible for managing a construction project during the design phase. This is a full-time, long-term position.

Responsibilities of Architectural Design Lead

• Convert initial client interest in modular project design into final sales, moving potential clients into pre-construction contracts for modular ADU, single family, multifamily and commercial construction projects.
• Manage pre-construction activities and workflows, ensuring a great client experience from initial modular design to permitting and hand off to project management team.
• Perform initial feasibility studies on potential sites including code and planning research and initial modular design direction.
• Execute simple design and drafting projects to communicate modular design concepts to clients as well as their contracted architects and facilitate smaller design projects in-house.
• Support architects, engineers and consultants to convert existing programming or schematic designs into modular designs with support by company’s manufacturing team.
• Create preliminary and detailed cost analysis and scope documents for small turnkey projects or larger projects limited to modular manufacturing.
• Oversight/Coordination of all design, engineering partners as well as other consultants: civil, energy compliance, geotechnical engineering, environmental etc.
• Develop/establish key relationships as representative of company within the Shasta County building community, City of Redding and Shasta County jurisdictional authorities
• Handle temporary delegated authority from Owner and Executive Team as appropriate. Contribute to company leadership team.

Requirements of Architectural Design Lead

• Work experience as architect, designer, drafter, and/or project manager required
• Competency in compiling construction documents and other design deliverables
• Ability to develop and express modular design ideas graphically.
• Competency to manage entire preconstruction process.
• Ability to set and work on deadlines, handle communication with Clients, contract and manage consultants
• General understanding of CA, Redding, Shasta County codes
• General understanding of CA, Redding, Shasta County permitting process
• Ability to communicate written and orally with developers and strategic referral partners on projects of all types.

Preferred Technical Requirements of Architectural Design Lead

• Modular experience
• Ability to express modular design ideas graphically with Revit and Sketchup
• BS architecture, construction management or degree from a technical college or equivalent industry experience

Compensation and Benefits of Architectural Design Lead

• Wage: $60,000-$120,000 DOE
• 90-Day Review and wage assessment, with potential of increase
• 40+ hour work week
• Mileage on personal vehicle paid at 65 cents per mile on each paycheck.
• Benefits eligible after 90-day probation.
• 80 hours Vacation (Accrued Annually) increases annually.
• 24 hours sick pay per year.
• 5 paid holidays.
• Medical, Vision, and Dental available.
