Job Description
Alexander McQueen are currently in search of a Studio Assistant who will support the WRTW design team with a variety of tasks including but not limited to Administrative and Logistic requirements.
The role will be best suited to a committed, hardworking & highly organised person, familiar with working in the creative industry with a strong can-do attitude.
How you will contribute?
  • Tracking the studio’s budget (research, models, fabric, travel, haberdashery), invoice approvals and cash cards.
  • Manage the daily tasks for the Studio Coordinator and Assistant. Delegate responsibilities and oversee tasks are carried out correctly and efficiently.
  • Provide administrative support to the design studio, including specific equipment buying and factory visit request.
  • Wide knowledge of suppliers in London. To manage supplier lists and update contacts.
  • Liaise with the press and production team, together with senior management for the styling set up of the seasonal photoshoots and assist with the logistics and organisation for each event.
  • Assist members of the design team with the logistical support for research for forthcoming collections.
  • Manage the logistics and travel for the WRTW fashion shows – Visa’s, flights, taxi, train, accommodation for the trip, ensuring that design equipment and materials are readily available on location for the Design team
  • Support the Senior Operations and Events Manager with the organisation and running of the show Atelier, whether in London or abroad. Liaising with Italian teams on equipment and travel request.
  • Manage the fittings that occur throughout the year, including booking models, and stylists, coordinating travel for those involved, replenish equipment and managing the ‘fitting’ budget.
  • Manage the supplies in the studio and atelier. Ordering stationery and haberdashery on a weekly basis to ensure teams are supported and able to fulfil deadlines.
  • Ensure the effective coordination of catering for the design team during fittings and peak periods. Liaise daily with the PA’s to the Creative Director for food and drink requests.
  • Liaise with reception regarding the coordination of couriers and packages
  • Supporting the atelier with haberdashery requests and liaising with sewing machines suppliers.
  • Manage the model fitting schedule, liaising with Head Designers and Chief Product Manager to fulfil requests from the Creative Director. Sustaining professional relationships with model agents and agencies. Holding castings when necessary.
Who you are?
  • Computer literate, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience in a similar role working within a fast-paced fashion design studio, familiar with prioritizing and multi-tasking competing demands
  • Knowledge of fabrics and the design process is beneficial.
  • Excellent people and communication skills with a strong service orientated approach and ability to maintain impartial relationships
  • Ability to be discrete, confidential and reliable at all times
  • Problem solving and solution orientated with a ‘Can-do’ attitude
  • A strong team player.
