The Admissions Recruitment Manager is responsible for leading two groups of student interns (approximately fifteen to twenty employees) who support the office of Undergraduate and International Admissions in recruitment activities; the Recruitment Support Interns and the Admissions Counselor Assistants. The position has direct oversight over the implementation of inquiry and application yield strategies through management of student callers for the recruitment of new students to APU. This position will work closely with the Admissions leadership team to plan and coordinate recruitment calling campaigns and student support activities through the admissions funnel, serving the freshman, transfer, and international populations.


Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.

Required Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in recruiting, sales, or marketing.
  • Preferably 1 -2 years of work experience either with diverse populations in recruitment or other relevant work.
  • Preferably conversational in multiple languages.

Primary Duties/Essential Functions

Direct supervision of all Recruitment Support Interns (student callers) including:

  • hiring
  • onboarding
  • scheduling hours
  • assessing performance
  • coaching

Direct supervision and training of Admissions Counselor Assistants, student interns trained to represent APU at various recruiting events such as local high schools, community colleges, fairs, and events including:

  • hiring
  • onboarding
  • scheduling hours
  • assessing performance
  • coaching

Recruits prospective students through development of caller talking points for interns, creating personalized student video campaigns, written correspondence, and phone contacts.

Identifies and trains senior or lead interns for Recruitment Support Interns and Admissions Counselor Assistants.

Implements call campaigns throughout the recruitment to enrollment season as identified by admissions leadership.

Coordinate call and presentation messages with data, events, and communication teams for a consistent “call to action” for prospective student.

Assists recruitment team in timely response to phone calls by training interns to answer general questions.

Engages in calling campaigns by completing outreach activities in support of the Admissions Representatives.

Interfaces as necessary with various offices on campus to facilitate accurate information dissemination and preferred word sets for student callers.

Facilitates student intern support activities for on-campus and off-campus events.

Attend undergraduate admissions leadership meetings and contribute to formation of strategy to utilize student callers.

Develop, monitor, and report on call number goals for Recruitment Support Interns team members.

Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.

Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.

Participates in on-campus and off-campus admissions events involving student recruitment and registration.

Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Ability to conduct business at various offices on campus.
  • Able to lift, pull, grasp, stoop to lower file drawers and reach to top of five-drawer file cabinets.
  • Availability to travel throughout fall, spring and summer recruitment seasons, as well as an occasional, developmental conference out of area.
  • Possess a valid California driver license.
  • Able to lift 10-20 lbs. occasionally.
  • Intermittent sitting, standing and walking.

Visual Demands

  • Computer monitor and reading.

Environment

  • Pleasant office, comfortable temperature, variable weather conditions when traveling.

Technologies

  • Proficient in Google Apps., Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce/Slate and Peoplesoft a plus.

Compensation

  • Grade 11: $28.53 - $37.09 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
