Founded in 2010, The Ground Up (TGU) is Houston s fastest growing landscape supply company. We manufacture mulches & soils and carry a large selection of base, gravels, and sand products. TGU also operates three re-wholesale nurseries in the Houston Metro Area.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Record sales of mulch into accounting system. Invoice customers when necessary, process credit card payments and record cash sales.
  • Process credit applications for new vendors.
  • Provide job cost reports and accounts receivable reports as requested.
  • Monitor receipts and accounts receivable aging and work with management on collections.
  • Responsible for completion, compliance and act as a resource for information.
  • Reconcile assigned company back accounts on monthly basis.
  • Perform filing duties as necessary.
  • Other duties/special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 2 year Accounting degree or related experience.
  • 3+ years experience in the Accounting field.
  • Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable is a plus.
  • Experience with Netsuite software is preferred
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and attention to detail skills.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Moderate noise typical of an office setting such as computers, printers, phone, and light customer traffic
