Accounting Process Improvement Analyst

American Modern Insurance Group has an opportunity on our Accounting team for an Accounting Process Improvement Analyst. This position will support the execution and monitoring of key controls and other first line of defense activities for Accounting. You will develop and monitor processes and controls to support the Statutory and IFRS financial accounting and reporting processes; assist the team with evaluating the effectiveness of controls executed in the financial accounting and reporting processes and facilitate the annual assessment process (ORCS); researching technical topics and developing white papers to address accounting issues as needed.

American Modern Insurance Group offers flexibility with our hybrid work environment. Employees are typically in the office 40-50% of the time to allow for face to face collaboration. We are located in Amelia, OH, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio.

• Oversee execution and monitoring of financial reporting controls including supporting innovation and business enablement as well as making sure that appropriate automation, integration, and synergies are realized without unnecessary business distraction.
• Work with Accounting to complete the assessment of material risks and controls in the Accounting Control framework, while proposing improvements and changes as required to reflect the changes in accounting processes.
• Participate on process improvement projects within accounting, bringing knowledge of accounting and reporting requirements as well as controls to the project teams to ensure adequate consideration is given to reporting timelines, operational considerations and change management.
• Support the continued development of the accounting control environment. Drive training on topics as needed in the accounting area.
• Other projects as identified and related to Accounting transformation, issue resolution, and quality improvements related to the control environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Accounting, Finance, or Business-related curriculum
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
• Basic knowledge of Accounting concepts
