Hearth & Home Technologies is hiring an entry level Staff Accountant at our Lakeville, MN Corporate Headquarters. Are you a new graduate with a degree in Accounting – this may be the role for you! This is a Hybrid position with a balance of time in the office and remote. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required for this position.

As a Staff Accountant, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for the preparation and completion of month-end financial reports. Important to your success will be your ability to:

• Support the finance department in the completion of month-end close tasks to ensure the accurate and timely closing of our financials each month.
• Support the finance department in validating the accuracy of financials through monthly account and bank reconciliations.
• Support the finance department in maintaining positive relationships with business members and leaders with whom you work

Some supporting objectives include:

• Developing a good understanding of our accounting software packages – Manage 2000, Prophet 21 and other software such as Cognos or OneStream.
• Developing a good understanding of our various business models
• Good communication with our members outside the Lakeville finance department (ie: branch personnel, regional controllers, regional credit managers; manufacturing personnel, facility controllers and credit managers; Corporate shared services personnel, accounting and treasury members.)

Skills

• Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software including Excel and Word
• General understanding of accounting software and proficiency with picking up new software
• High attention to detail and personal accountability
• Organized, self-motivated, and the ability to work independently or within small groups
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
