Pratt & Whitney AutoAir is the United Technologies Corporation composite manufacturing center of excellence for aerospace OEM and MRO products, and is a sourced supplier on several new engine programs with noteworthy growth in the coming years.

Due to this growth, our business is in need of hourly associates for our facilities in Lansing, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cutting, sizing, and measuring state of the art composite materials in accordance with process sheet instructions.
  • Disassembly and assembly of aircraft components.
  • Manipulating state of the art materials by stretching and heating to secure material to form molds.
  • Performing composite and metal fabrication as well as finishing work within extremely tight tolerances to achieve required quality requirements.
  • Must be able to work any shift, including first, second, and the potential for third shift, as required by business need

Basic Qualification:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a production manufacturing environment with a proven capability to perform complex tasks
  • Previous experience with machine metal and hand tools
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read Work Instructions, or operation sheets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A&P certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Previous experience with composite materials including fiberglass, carbon fiber, and Kevlar strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience as an aerospace mechanic or A&P mechanic preferred.
  • Previous experience with body work and painting preferred.
  • Previous experience in welding and electronics preferred.
  • Self-starter and possess integrity and professionalism at all times.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Pratt & Whitney LANSING, MI, is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
