Gathering Our Voice

Stewardship

In 2009, the Gathering Our Voice project began working with a variety of local teams, gathering stewardship success stories on a wide range of topics.

Entiat Voice

Columbia Breaks Fire Interpretive Center works to collect the history of wildfires in our region and to educate visitors and students about the role fire plays in shaping the ecosystems where we live. Collecting the story of how the Center itself has developed along with those of the volunteers who have dedicated years of service is the focus of a Gathering Our Voice project in the Entiat this year. Listen to interview segments, see photos, and explore the timeline.

Methow Voice

In the Methow, Confluence Gallery is working with local volunteers to gather stories about how people have come together to create cooperative efforts that benefit the community. Listen to interview segments and see photos.

Okanogan Voice

The Okanogan County Historical Society is working with the Okanogan Conservation District and the Okanogan Valley Land Council to gather interviews that can be used to tell the story of the Okanogan Conservation District celebrating it’s 70-year anniversary this year. Explore the timeline, listen to interview segments and see photos.

Quincy Voice

The Quincy Valley Historical Society & Museum is leading a project entitled, “The Rains Have Gone Around … Water in the Quincy Valley,” that will explore the importance of water and highlight good stewardship of this precious resource. Explore the timeline.

Wenatchee Voice

The history of the Apple Capital Recreation Loop Trail – from early concepts and plans in the 1970s through the dedication of the trail in the late 1990s – is the topic of a Gathering Our Voice project in the Wenatchee Valley this year. Listen to interview segments, see photos, and explore the timeline.
